anyone use Boaphile cages ?

I have a Boaphile RhinoRaxx Rack. Been using it for almost 7 years now and NEVER a problem with it at all. So I'm pretty happy. I did have to wait for a bit before receiving it, but not as long as some people are waiting on other cages.

Is there anyone that uses Boaphile cages ? If so, how do you like them ? How long did you wait ? Is there anything you would change about it, if you could ? Or if you were to order another one ? What do you love / hate about it ?

I think they're beautiful cages. Just pricey.

At the size and the options I'm looking at, the Boaphile only costs $61 more. Since shipping is included. (Boaphile 422D vs AP T11, both with heat tape and a fluorescent light installed)

I'm impressed with the quality of the Rack I have and I like that the cage comes in one piece, no put it together and seal it yourself. I know putting it together and sealing is really not a big deal, but I have had good luck with "one piece" cages. I also like the swing down door a lot. While the wait is long, apparently not even close as long as AP.

So I'm on the fence ;) The "one piece construction" really sounds a lot better to me.

I hope someone can give me their pro's and con's :)

I have them for all my snakes and love them. The wait sucks but not really a big deal to me overall. My biggest whines are it would be nice if he answered emails vs phone only, use the black non rusting hinges normally (not the extra charge) and I wish he installed leds instead of tubes. But easy enough to put your own lighting in. Pros for me is he's in my state, they come in black and are one piece. I've never had a problem with a cage and have ordered 8 plus pedestals in 3 orders over the past 7 years. All the heat panels, tape, doors, hinges, etc still work fine.

I have the 421 condo but have not used it yet. When I ordered it I couldn't wait and ended up making a rack. So far the racks work so much better for me but I do plan to use the boaphile in the future to show off some of my snakes. But for now.....it is setup but not being used.

That is good to hear !! I think the wait is actually shorter then AP at this time. I'm simply really happy with the performance of my rack, so I wondered if the cages hold up similarly. The hinges aren't a big deal to me for an extra $8 and fluorescent light is fine.
Importance is longevity, well made and quality. No leaking. Ease of maintenance. Sturdy, etc.

I have the 322 arboreal that I purchased used, the prior owner had it for several years and I've had it three years so it's seen a lot of use.

I run both an RHP and under-tank heat in it so the snake can either perch and bask or hide and bask, as it prefers. It's one of the better-built enclosures that I have.

I have 2 boaphiles and 6 AP enclosures. I have to say that I like my AP enclosures a lot more. AP does a great heat panel installation and setting up and sealing the enclosures is a breeze. They are sturdy and stackable with pegs to hold them in place. I do like the swinging doors of the boaphiles that I have, they are strong and the locking handles are great, but overall I prefer my sliding glass AP enclosures.

I was almost set on a AP , but the super long wait is a turn off..

And the price for the size/configuration I'm looking for isn't that different, so I have some thinking to do ;)

I have an old 6 ft Boaphile. It has three great things I love, and two bad things that are annoying.

I love the big and wide drop down doors. It really makes access a breeze. Second, I like how it is only 24 inches deep compared to my AP T-25s which are 30 inches deep. The Boaphile is MUCH easier to clean. The third thing I love is how it is one piece with no seams or assembly required.

The bad: the top sags badly. I understand that the new ones don't. The material is thinner which I see as good and bad. It is MUCH more lightweight than the AP. But on the other hand, there just isn't much meat for mounting an RHP, unless it is the right size to fit their location that they provide. This may not be a problem when ordering one.

Don't get me wrong, I love my APs, I have two more coming. I took me a while to decide. AP won out because I needed more height than Boaphile offered.
