Just bought my first ball python
I bought a Super Pastel Ivory Ball Python the other day, I've been keeping an eye on the temps of the tank (40 gallon breeder) my warm side is at 90 right now and it usually ranges from 80 when i have the light off and 85-90 when the light is on. My cool side im having trouble with keeping the temperature where it needs to be, its at 71/72 but she spends most of her time on the cool side until yesterday I bought a hide for her warm side where she hide for a few hours then went back to the cool side im just a little worried the cool side temperature is too low.

I use an infrared heat bulb to raise temperatures. A dimmer would also help.

How are you heating the hot side and what are your humidity levels?

seems like about 7 degrees too cool on the cool side.
