After lock

Its been almost 30 days since I had 1st lock. Female has eaten since then. What should I expect? Is she retaining sperm?

I usually pair until I see the female building.

It take more than one lock in most cases, one lock does not mean anything, as long as you do not see any change in the female you need to keep pairing. (you are looking for the female to move on the cool side, bowl wrapping, building and at last ovy)
