The first ever lock at RAD House
I was very excited for my first pairing ever when I put Clyde into Bonnie's tub yesterday evening. I was even more ecstatic when I peaked in today and saw my first lock. I am proud of my boy for getting right to it. I can not wait to watch this whole life process unfurl.

    Congrats !!!

    Keep us posted ;)

    What's the substrate incidentally ?

Looks very similar to the orchid / reptile bark I use over here in the dismally cold UK :)

I will indeed. It is coco chips. It behaves similarly to cypress but is cheaper and more sustainable. I have never used orchid bark so I could not compare it.

congrats, and have you found the coco chips to be as mold resistant as cypress? If it works just as well I'd like to get away from cypress for the same reason.

It is pretty mold resistant but maybe a bit less than cypress in my opinion.

I like the dark colour of it - darker substrates show off the snake colours so well .

I saw a photo yesterday of a stunning Snow Hognose morph .... Brilliant white and beautiful but it was on that horrid aspen stuff and it just blended into the substrate rather than standing out .
