got to visit with an old hs friend who got me into royals
we weren't super close in hs but close enough. years ago when i used facebook she would post pictures of her normal bp which made me think "they seem cool, let's research them," and was my catalyst into the hobby.
well today i stopped by her place for the first time and i saw her snakes and setups. there were two: both had pieces of shed all over the tank and some spots of stuck shed on them, one half log hide per glass tank, completely open in a high-traffic area, uncovered mesh tops, one stick-on dial temp gauge.
it just made me a little sad. i obviously couldn't mention it, but i wanted to so badly. i didn't stare long to really take it all in because i thought it was rude lol. like it wasn't hard to Google stuff and find this site or good info when i first started researching bps. just upsetting. 😕
has anyone been in a situation like this? did you say anything?

I think many people have been in a similar situation where a friend or family member is doing something questionable and people wonder if they should say something or not.
I would say something, but approach it very carefully. If you have anything resembling an accusatory tone, you will nearly always get an undesirable response.

i agree it's tricky, but i'd like to try and offer some wisdom. maybe i can phrase my advice as "1 Neat Trick! PetSmart HATES This!!!" like a neat little tip i've picked up over the years: "hey u kno saran wrap or tin foil works awesome for humidity!" start with something super simple that'll help. maybe next time i visit her i can try that.
