    ambiant temps
Hey everyone I have a question about the 90 degree hot spot I just switched from tanks to a rack and was wondering if the hot spot is just on the tub that is around 90 or if its the ambient temp that needs to be 90?

The 90* hot spot is just on one side of the tank- it should be the substrate temperature inside the hot hide - no higher than 90 though. Might have to set your under the tank heat to 95 to get the inside of the cage 90, the other side should be cooler. The ambient should be between 75*F and 84*F (I keep my ambient at 80-81). I have one hide on the hot spot at 88*, one on the cool side which in about 84*, and a third hide that is ambient temp at 80*-81*.

People that use Tubs use Flexwatt/UTH (Heat Mats) The hot spot (88-91) should be regulated by a Thermistat as the Heat Mats get 130 degrees when plugged directly into a wall. You will cook the snake.
