Keeping your reptile room warm in the winter without blasting your heater?
Like the title describes, I'm trying to keep my reptile room warm without my heating bill being super expensive.

Any tips would be appreciated, thanks!

Keep it well insulated if possible, seal drafty windows with plastic sheeting, keep the door closed, and use an oil radiator to heat that room specifically. That's what I've done for the last several years without too much of a spike in my utility bills (depending on the apartment at the time). I currently only need my radiator on the nearly lowest setting to keep the room at about 73-76 with my HVAC set to 70 for the rest of the apt.

Took the words right out of my mouth. I bought a electric oil radiator heater at Walmart for $159 in 2004 and its heats my 12x12 room to 80° on " Low #2".
Its $10-$15 a month depending on the winter & my house is 72 days and 60 nights.

I put a small chest freezer for the feeders in the reptile room. The exhaust from it helps heat the room.

Funny thing is that initially I did it for convenience. It wasn't until winter I realized the benefit.

That said, during the summer I have to run the ceiling fan and set up a box fan in the doorway to blow cool air into the room so it doesn't overheat.

I was going to ask what it does to the room in the hotter months lol.
