Pls help

Idk if I'm just over reacting or what. My BP Lucy eats hoppers. When I got him about 2 months ago, everything was fine, eating properly, pooping properly, he's a curious one. Lucy would always defecate 2-3 days after eating. I last fed him Wednesday the 25th but have not seen any feces in the enclosure since. His enclosure is where it needs to be, temperature good, humidity good, everything. So I'm not entirely certain if I should be concerned or if this is normal. He finished shedding a couple weeks ago if that has anything to do with the change, I don't know. If anyone has some insight, it would be greatly appreciated.

Perfectly normal. He will go when he is ready. Young BPs metabolize much of what they eat. I have one that has gone only once in well over a month and one that's a poop machine. They poop on their own schedule.

I had always had adult snakes until I got my yearling Jungle Carpet about a year and half ago. I have always been amazed at the small amount of waste products proportionally compared to my adults. It appears that her body is very efficient at using her food for nutrition and growth.

I wouldn't worry. Snakes poop when they poop. If you see the rear half of the snake start swelling like a balloon really bad, then you should probably worry. Otherwise, he'll poop when he's ready.

The best thing I have found to get a snake to poop if you are worried is clean their cage. The will poop within 1 day of that. :D

It' varies, it depends on food intake, animal's age etc, they can go without a bowel movement for WEEKS.

Now the fact that you are underfeeding your BP is the main reason why there is no bowel movement as most of the prey is utilize for growth leaving little to nothing to be eliminated.

Hoppers are what people feed BP out of the egg and they quickly move them to adult mice, if you have had your BP for 2 months and still feed hoppers there is obviously an issue here.

This. Not so much pooping with mine, but she will def pee all over everything as soon as I clean her enclosure. Mine is set to shed any day now. She just came out of blue and she always goes without fail goes when she sheds...

Update to the above post. She just had a perfect shed and like always, dropped a tootsie roll....

Haha they love to do that. Wait until they wrap it up in the shed or try and hide a pile of urate in the shed. Vicky did that to me and when I reached in after lights out to grab the shed and check that the eye caps and tail end came off, I sunk my finger into a turd she hid in the middle of it. You haven't lived until you go 1 knuckle deep in a fairly fresh snake turd they have been saving for 2 weeks :puke2:
