    2 heat mats, 1 thermostat
    Hey all,

So out of curiosity does anyone have a solution to the issue of 2 heat mats being plugged into a surge protector which is plugged into the thermostat not heating remotely close to the same temps?

The heat mat the probe is on heats up moderately over the tstat's set temp (herpstat 2). I expected the second mat to be under temp by a few degrees but its almost 10-11 degrees under depending on the ambient room temp. These are on sterelite tubs as a temporary housing solution to two "rescue" BP's in my care. Everything else is fine except for the heat differential. I know the mats are generally unpredictable but I have a 3rd on its own plug in the tstat and it works flawlessly, right to 90 on hot side for my other BP's tub.

I have a 3 rack system on order from AP but we all know that takes a while, and with hamburg in less than a month I imagine I'll be waiting for a while lol.

    thanks for any input!

    Mats are identical?
I havent seen two off that much.
Switch the probe and see what happens.

yes sir, two identical reptitherms. I made sure to get the same size to avoid that issue, but apparently it didn't matter lol. I am going to move the probe to the other mat but I have a strange feeling its just going to swap the temps, which honestly might be better because the lower temp tub is currently housing a juvie pastel who was not cared for in the slightest looking at her...

If you cant get it to work go to lowes and grab one of these for $15. Mats are to unpredictable and it acually drives me nuts.. I cant wait for my new AP to get here so i can get my newest addition out of this tub and use the pro panel. Im sick of all these heat mat problems too.

this was my next quick fix for it...

ok so update on this...I moved the probe to the other mat...the first mat shot up to 100 degrees...the second mat never made it to temp...I'm starting to think either the mat is partially defective or the tstat is having trouble pushing power to the plugs further down the power strip....then today I wake up after making adjustments at 1 am....and both tubs are at 85...what is my life? lol....

THEN to top it off, I get my receipt from AP for a 3 tub rack...thinking 4-5 week turn around.... TEN TO TWELVE WEEKS!!!!!!!!!! why??????? haha. Ordering one from reptile basics with a two week turn around now...screw waiting 2.5 months for a tiny rack....
