Feeding during the start of a shed

Hi, so I just acquired my first snake. She is a beautiful little girl. She was dumped at the Pet store I work at. Being the bleeding heart I am, she now has a forever home. Her eyes are cloudy and she looks dull. I believe she is going to shed. She eats every Sunday. My question is should I try to feed this Sunday or wait for her to shed.

Welcome! I would feed if she will eat. Mine just went into shed and she ate like a boss tonight.

I usually feed even if they are in shed. Sometimes you have to actually touch their nose to the rodent because they can't see very well. I usually count on them not eating, I do fresh kill for maybe half of my snakes, then do a few more and so on so I don't waste any, it's been working great. And I usually end on the one I know will eat every time, unless he's in a shed of course. I don't write down and track my sheds, but I do have a sticker that says a snake is currently in shed and I bank on them not eating when it's feeding time. I'd say about half do eat in shed.

I like to offer feed during the shedding process but never worry if they don't eat during that time. Congratulations on the new friend!
