Very interesting. So I've worked out she doesn't take white albino rats.

She likes them coloured or dark. I defrosted the rat WITH NO WATER left in the bag as per usual for ABOUT 10 HOURS, THE BAG WAS SEALED......she likes me to warm the rat with hot air, gets her thermal pits working, so she struck the rat fast as per constricted it, as she took it half the rat dropped in her water, she fussed with it a while...then left it.
Then in 10 mins came back and swallowed it. So What I've found, I know they are finicky eaters is, My girl doesn't like rats thawed in water, she doesn't take them, she likes dry rats which I thaw overnight she likes them warmed with hot air....I guess as I said to get her thermal pits working....so there you are...possible advice if your beauty goes off feed. UK.

Don't forget, sometimes you have to stand on one foot and hold your head sideways when offering the rat! :D

It's crazy what you have to go through with some of these guys. My gal won't even *look* at a wet f/t rat...she has to have them fuffy!

Thankfully don't have that issue at all. Been feeding all mine frozen thawed for almost 7 years now they eat them any condition. Fluffy, wet they do not care just needs to be in their belly lol.

Occasionally mine will do that with her second mouse and sometimes not until I reheat it, AFTER she's already struck, constricted, then dropped it to explore the tank. Reheat it, she hits it like a champ then down the hatch...funny how it works and what we do for our animals.

Again, I wish we had a "like" or "LOL" button - so the "thanks" will have to suffice.
