Diy wooden tank for BP

I'm looking to build a wooden set up for my BP and not sure what the best route to go is as far as how to seal the inside and keep from mold growing and how to heat it? Would it be cheaper to buy one or build it.

Building is always cheaper however there are better material than wood, such as expended PVC

Wood can be sealed too however it will never last as long as a PVC enclosure.

When I was making them I used linoleum on the sides and top.....
The bottom was always glass, 3/8".
Your other option would be a radient heat panel.

I've been at this for years and have built many racks/cages for pythons and boas. The best peace of advice I can give you is skip the wood and go with xpvc(expanded pvc). It's more expensive than wood and less expensive than pvc. It works great and will last forever basically. It's a breeze to clean and more than sturdy enough. Wood will not last that long no matter how you seal it. With the humidity these animals need it will wear down on the underside of shelves in racks or the bottom of cages. Some products will make it last longer sure, but they will all need to be repaired or replaced.

I'm in on this thread as well...I'm trying to figure out the flooring with flexwatt (if possible) I am also using wood due to the fact I have a ton of 3/4" plywood that is already paid for.
