I found these spots/abrasions on Ginger today. Does anyone know what they are? Burns?

    Thanks!

Looks like missing scales. Make sure there's nothing too rough in her enclosure that could tear them off

How long have they been there? Looks like rat bites. Do you feed live?

I would say that they haven't been there more than 2 weeks. Can't be rat bites - we feed f/t.

I'm wondering if her hot side cave is too hot. The temp is a steady 92, but maybe there's a hot pocket inside of her cave.

These are on her back, not belly, so I assume scale rot is out?

Have you inspected the inside of her hides?

I have found that most natural looking hides that I have bought have had sharp protrusions. I had to spend about 15 -20 minutes grinding and sanding them smooth.

If you hadn't said F/T I would have bet a hundred bucks those were rat bites just because of the pattern of them. LOL.

I had a buddy who used to keep his snakes in square glass terrariums with a round water bowl in the corner. I say used to, because he stopped after he realized some of the bigger / more adventurous snakes would get into the corner, get partially trapped, and pinch themselves with the ceramic against the glass. I never actually saw the injuries on them, so I can't really say, but I figured it was worth mentioning. As others have said, a lot of hides that are smooth on the outside are still rough on the inside. I have had to doctor some that I've purchased online, and I have had to throw some away too.

if its missing scales for whatever enclosure reasons shouldn't it scab?
