    The First Family's First Pet
Do you think it would be a good thing or a bad thing for the exotic animal industry if the "First Pet" were a reptile?

Just musing because in the past, whatever breed of dog or cat the President's family had usually had a surge in popularity.

It would probably help Ark some, I'd like to think it would be a good thing for the hobby, captive breeding, and good care.

Nevertheless, knowing human nature, who knows. I tend to be a pessimist.

Did you come across something about Barron wanting a snake?

If it did increase the popularity I suppose that could help out a lot of breeders, but at the same time I fear that people that would go out and buy a snake/lizard/other herp just because the President's kid has one would be just as likely to not research the care and end up flooding Craigslist and other such sites with attempts to rehome them later.

LOL no, just musing since people were talking about the inauguration. It's a slow day at the office and my mind wandered a bit.

Watching a ton of people go out and get herps as pets - because it's the latest thing - only to see all of those animals get dumped in a few years would definitely not be good though.
