My snake is a bit, too active?
Recently Sammy has been roaming his cage. A lot. His hides are the same, temps are fine, I think he's stressed out. How can I cure this and make him go back to the BP that hides all day? He's eating, pooping, and drinking. He's located in a closet where nobody besides a family member and me go into (Not a lot though since we have work). He seems to be wanting to escape his tub by putting his head up at the lid. I'm concerned for Sammy :)
Re: My snake is a bit, too active?
Calliope often does the same thing. It's no health problem, it just means your snake is curious and wants to get out a little more. Holding him and letting him explore more might put him back into his calm moods. My BP will roam her cage until I pick her up, and if she isn't ready to be put back, when I put her back, she tries to climb my arm to escape, poor girl.

Have you checked the temps especially under the warm hide ? I had a similar thing a few years ago and when I took a reading using a digital temperature gun the temps were over a 100 and even the cool side was high 80's . The thermostat had failed / jammed !!!
It maybe nothing at all but worth checking ..

He's in a 15qt and weighs 550 grams. I'm aware that he should be going into a 28qt by now. I don't want to upgrade him yet since I'm getting a rack soon that fits v-35 (similar size to a 28qt) tubs. So I don't know if it would be a good idea to upgrade him now.

Feeding him once a week on small rats. He weighs 550 grams.

Seems roughly appropriate. As long as his body condition is decent I imagine it's not a hunger issue.
