    A little bit of substrate?
Is it okay if Karma eats a little bit of substrate?

I used to be able to feed her outside of her enclosure but she stopped eating for a month and now will only eat inside of her tub. I'm using aspen now, but because of this, I may just start using newspaper. I wish I wasn't so paranoid about the substrate consumption thing:rage:

And with newspaper cleanup would be shoo much easier, I swear her poops are bigger than my pitbulls:rofl:

I honestly wouldn't worry about it. Snakes that live out in the wild eat all kind of things on accident, dirt, bugs, etc. As long as she isn't eating a mouth full of the substrate it should be fine lol. You can switch to newspaper or paper towel if you want, the two have their perks (cheaper, easier to come by, no mite worries), but a little substrate won't hurt her.

I use shredded aspen and aspen sani chips. All of my snakes have ingested bits of their substrate with no ill effects.
