Trick to get a ball python to feed
Dear All I wanted to share this feeding strategy. My 6 year old ball python went off feed for 12 weeks tried everything including some unusual tricks from a breeder. DIP THE THAWED RATS HEAD IN TUNA FISH OIL. RUB A CHICK OVER THE RAT. Heat the thawed rat with a hairdryer to get her thermal pits working, move the enclose somewhere else. AND, FINALLY WHAT WORKED WAS TO CHANGE THE COLOUR OF THE THAWED RATS OFFERED, SHE DOESNT TAKE WHITE RATS. ONLY BROWNS BLACK AND GREYS OR PIED. HEATED THEM WITH HOT AIR THEN SHE STARTED TO TAKE THEM AGAIN. My girl doesn't like them thawed in water maybe the water is too alkaline or limescale so I now defrost the rat the day before in a tied clean plastic bag., warm it up, use tongs and success.!

I hope this may help. I know how infuriating it is when our babies go off food.x
