Tame adult nicoraguans?

I got a breeding pair of adult nicoragauns they were not handled at all and are 6 year old when i handle them they never hiss or bite but when i was putting the female back into her cage she kept popping out which eventaully led to her biting my forearm is there hope to tame 2 adults that have never been handled?

Sounds like they're already pretty tame/handleable but you just misread the female and took a tag. As for your question, there's always hope. Taming an older animal isn't really any different than a youngster. It might take a little longer and the blood sacrifices are a little larger, but the process is the same. Sounds to me like your pair of adults aren't particularly mean, you just ticked off the female. Even "tame" snakes will bite if provoked enough and they all have their own, individual threshold.

Just a thought but what kind of enclosure are you using? If it's one that opens from the top then it's normal for most snakes to try to escape out the top, and to get a little pissy about being pushed down into it. This is why I prefer front-opening enclosures as the snakes are perfectly happy to climb up into them if you place their heads a few inches below the door.

Definitely easier to put the snake back through the front door vs. the roof, especially larger/longer snakes.
