Temperatures in New Set-up
hey, i recently set-up a tub for my ball python who will be arriving tomorrow morning. i am extremely worried, since the cold side is only around 65-70 and the hot side is around 75-80.
i am am using an acu-rite thermometer with the probe placed under the substrate on the hot side. i also have a temperature gun to check the temperature that gives slightly different results than the thermometer. i have a jump start thermostat with the probe placed in between the ultratherm heat mat and the tub. the thermostat is set to around 90.
i have no no idea what i should do to raise the temperature. help would be appreciated.

(note: i increased the thermostat temperature to 105 just to test it. now, the hot side is 90 and the cool side is 70. we're getting there)
That is a good move with the thermostat increase, but that still won't keep the ambient temp stabilized. Remember the jump start is a on and off programmed thermostat. While its a good thermostat to regulate the heat pad/ hot spot the lamp will be more efficient in controlling your ambient temperatures. Also, keep an eye on the humidity percentage with the lamp bc you may still have to make a adjustment for that.
