Well, here goes #2! Killer Blast x Pastel Enchi
I was only going to breed the Bumblebee with my male Killer Blast, but then I thought...why not try. And put him with the Pastel Enchi. It sure didn't take them long...

Great project. Whoa! Hot box incubator. Top of the line, I want one of those too. Good luck.

Yes...I thought about building my own, but then again, I like what I read about these Hot boxes and I like the "small" sized one.

I really never set out to breed. It was always just a "maybe". Back then I bought the morphs I visually liked. Just 5 snakes. I knew they would loose monetary value quickly, if not bred as soon as possible, as all morphs tend to do. But again, profit wasn't my priority.

Even now, if I do end up with hatchlings, they will probably not cover nearly what I paid for my adults way back, but that is ok. I'm doing this for "fun" , not profit.

But that doesn't mean I won't do it right...

Way back I raised one clutch from a gigantic (4300gr) rescue female (found her in a 10 gallon!!!!! tank in a nasty petstore)
. When I found her on eggs I quickly bought a Hovabator and modified it following google instructions ;) It worked fine. I got 6 eggs, one went bad. Eggs and babies were HUGE. Biggest hatchling was 116 gr. smallest was 89 gr. But...since I now have the possibility of 2 females having eggs (thinking about pairing my third female, too, not sure yet) I need something bigger then the Hovabator, but don't want something super big. I will most likely never have more then 3 or 4 clutches, if I even decide to breed more.

I already wonder what I'm going to do with all those hatchlings. So many snakes end up in "bad" situations, and it does somewhat bother me. I can already see me end up with a houseful of snakes because of not selling any, LOL.

So we will see how everything goes ;)

Next is shopping for a hatchling rack and reading up on the newest research how best to set up the egg tub (size, substrate, grate or not, etc..)

You will definitely enjoy your hotbox and their small one is perfect for a few clutches at a time. I was using a converted wine cool and wasn't really satisfied with the results last year so I made the drive to Chris at CSerpents and picked up the one 36" hotbox. Got a clutch in it now and so far I love it
