    Boa enclosure size
Ive been thinking about getting an adult boa at some point in the next year. I get conflicting results in internet searches. So i was hopeing someone on here could tell me if a 4'×18" or 4'×2' enclosure could house an adult male boa. Many thanx in advance for input.

My adult males are fine in 4'x30"x18" enclosures. They could probably go into a 4'x2' comfortably.

In my opinion MOST adult Boas will do fine in a 4x18 or 4x2. (Especially males). Since Boas are semi-arboreal you would get pleasure watching it climb given the opportunity with a 4x2.

However, one of my Boas is thick bodied and 7 feet long. Given that, I felt a 6 foot cage was in order. This one below (the cage on top), is a temporary 6x18 x2 deep. I have a 6x18x30 deep on order. I wish it was 2 ft high, but just could not work it out to do so.

Punch, Wild Type BI in top cage.

My other Boa is just under or at 6 feet long, and this 4X2x2 works quite well for him. The photo is of only half of the cage.

COOL! I thought the sky-hide was only for your carpet, I didn't realize the boas also used them. how do you secure them? any reinforcement needed?

My first Skyhide twisted out the mirror mount brackets and came crashing down with my 13.5 lb Carpet. I learned that 4 mounts are not enough for heavy snakes. Because of this I went to 13 of the big 3/4 mounts. Now keep in mind that these are the XL Reptile Basics hides. This one with the Boa has only 10 mounts, I left the front mounts off as an experiment, so removing for cleaning is much easier, just slide in and out. So basically just lots of mounts on 3 out 4 sides.

No reinforcement needed for 1/2 in plastic/PVC.

Small mounts on left in the pkg, large 3/4 in mount on the right.
    Also
Do Not use the provided screw and anchor. I used 3/4 in countersink #8 screws.
