As long as the water is about 120 degrees Fahrenheit you should be OK. I also use hot tap water and most hot water heaters are set right around 120.

Well since I have no way of knowing how hot it was, lets say it was hotter then tap water could be( it most likely was) would it be bad for her?
The rat was only warm when I gave it to her.

You can generally smell it when that water is to hot, it literally smells like cooking rat. But if your hot water issue isn't going away before your next feeding or close to it I would recommend getting a meat thermometer, it doesn't have to be spendy just a little gauge one so you can tell what temp the water is.
