    Wild Imports? & Dinkers?
So I was watching Snake Bytes T.V & Brian was talking about how he imported some of the first Ball Python Morphs out of West Africa like the Pinstripe. How does someone do this? Do they go and catch Ball Pythons themselves and bring them back to the U.S? Or do they buy them from breeders in Africa who ship them to the U.S? Also what are Dinker Ball Pythons? It's all very confusing.

Most of the time exporters out of an animals' native country are catching them in the wild and selling them to importers in other countries. I would surmise Brian imported wild caught animals with special genetics and bred them into his own lines.

I guess it makes since why Brian would do it. It's a business strategy to get the next big Morph. How do they send them over here though? Are a lot of them they transported by ships at once?

I remember him talking about his scaleless head BP's, his exporter in Africa said they had "something special" that they had just caught so he imported that animal along with a bunch of others. If its anything like the exotic fish trade then there are massive facilities in the native countries holding thousands of animals, and as orders come in they ship hundreds at a time by air cargo. That's how the exporters in south America do it for fish, can't be much different for African exporters and herps.

If im not mistaken a dinker is a snake with no actual identifying marks found in other snakes..possibly a new morph or showing traits of more than one snake
