Best way to trap heat from screened cage top
As I've already planned to line the sides of my 30 gallon Critter Cage with foam board insulation (painted black), I was thinking about whether to just stick with heavy duty foil on the screen, like I have on my 20 gallon now or try something different.
Since the 30 gallon is a bit longer and wider than the 20, I am contemplating whether or not to use both the CHE I have on the cool end, and maybe the infrared heat bulb in the middle (intermittently as needed).
I welcome feedback and suggestions.

What I did, put a wet rag over there middle to provide a little humidity and covered the rest with foil. Plan on fitting a piece of plexi underneath the screen and screwing it to the frame of the screen, with cut holes for vent.

I used lamp stands when I used overhead heat. With a safe gap there should be no issue.
A damp towel on the screen will cause it to rust. Some screens are super thin and will not take long to rust through.

The towel is temporary, it does make sense though. I plan on grabbing a sheet of plexi this week for mine. Just got into BP ownership so upgrading little by little. I plan on buying a PVC enclosure or building one if I can find the right stuff.

Place damp moss in the hides. It will give your snake all the humidity it needs.
