    First meal at home
Our little boa Ruby ate her first mouse at home with us today!

The legendary Boa feeding response was evident. When I introduced the mouse (f/t on hemostats) to the enclosure, Ruby flicked her tongue once and then faster than I could see it happen, she had the mouse and I didn't.

She did something our corn and BP don't do. She used her coils to hold the mouse steady while she worked her mouth over the shoulders. It was like she was bracing herself. Very interesting to watch.

I am enjoying this little boa immensely! I can't wait till she's had a few more days to settle in so I can start to hold her.

Props to NERD. My experience dealing with the whole crew at NERD and Zoo Creatures (the retail store) was nothing short of fabulous. I can't recommend them enough.

    Have a great day.
