He won't eat :((

My boy has been fasting since late august/early september!!!
All his temps and things are right, but this is such a long fast!!! He has been on f/t rats for a year now. Any tips to get him eating again?!?
Mid-september his weight was 1499g and I weighed him yesterday at 1428g

That's really not a long time. Plenty of snakes have gone longer. If everything is good it will eat when it is ready.

Sometimes feeding a live rat will get their interest.

I see you have been keeping track of its weight, if it got down on only 70 grams in that time don't worry, the important thing is that its weight doesn't decrease heavily in a short period of time.
Sometimes snakes are picky feeders, check that it doesn't vomit, or that it doesn't have any other kind of problem or minor disturbance. Give it a hide to feel safe, usually when they don't move it's better for them to be hidden and it might aswell give you a better chance to get it to feed again.
Relax and don't panic, I know it can get frustrating, but it will eat eventually. Good luck ^^

I feel your pain, I'm in the same boat with one of my males. I've offered all f/the, prekill, live rats. Went smaller, larger and even mice. Little turd just turns his nose up, very frustrating.

While frustrating your BP will be fine, he could go a year without food with no hill effect.

The key is to be patient, make sure your husbandry is on spot, and make sure that the animal is well hydrated.

BP go of feed especially this time of the year and large male even more so.

BP are also know to fast to catch up so if you were feeding anything larger than a small rat weekly this can also have an effect.

Again be patient.

Mine did the same thing last uear (first winter with me). I wasn't happy about it then, because he had not been well cared for, and was underweight as it was. This year - meh. I took good care of him once he started eating again, and he started out the winter at a much better weight. I am not as worried Bout him this year. He will eat eventually.

It happens sometimes.. As long as your husbandry is where it needs to be do not stress. I have a 1700 gram female normal who just decided last year she wasn't in the mood to eat for 9 months !! I still offered her frozen thawed once every 2 weeks , and nothing. I finally gave in and even offered her live (which is not something I do at all. I do not feed live not worth the risks imo. ) still gave me her best stank face and snubbed her nose up wanted no parts of it. Finally end of June it's like a light went off and now she has been flying out of her tub like lightning to grab the frozen thawed rats. The whole fast of 9 months she lost 234 grams. She has put that back on and then some. Great feeder again. I feel like I read an article way back about them eating great for a while could be years, and then just one day they feel "full" , and just fast for a bit. Again long as husbandry is ok she will be fine. Do not stress at all. It will be 1000 times more stressful for you than her lol. She will eat again though.

Not a lot of time or weight loss to worry.
