Super Blast (aka Killer Blast) x Bumblebee
So this is my first attempt at breeding :)

My Super Blast male has been locking up with my Bumble Bee female. 3 times, to be exact. They both still eat well in between.

I leave them together till they lock (usually within a few hours) then separate for a couple of days, feeding them, resting a couple of days and putting them back together.

Both are old enough and the female is heavy enough to produce.

I can't wait to see what I "might" get if things work out...and if they do not, its ok...breeding is not my first priority. I just like these snakes ;)

Anyone want to give their guesses at what I might get :D

Sounds like an awesome pairing! And put your genes in the genetic wizard at World of Ball Pythons It will tell you all the possibilities [emoji4]

I just wonder which of the possibilities I would end up with ;) Is is "usual" a pretty good mixup ? Has it ever been all of the same or just 2 different kinds ?

I guess that is what makes it so exciting. The possibilities.

It's just like flipping a coin several times. Sure, you can get all heads or all tails now and again, but you usually end up with a mix of something in the middle. You're right - that IS what makes this so exciting!

    Here are your odds
    These are the odds
    Pastel (Pastel Jungle). 12.5 %1/8
    Lemon Blast. 12.5 %1/8
Pastel Spider (Bumble Bee). 12.5 %1/8
    Super Pastel. 12.5 %1/8
    Spinner Blast. 12.5 %1/8
Killer Bee (Spider Super Pastel). 12.5 %1/8
    Killer Blast. 12.5 %1/8
Killer Spinner (Killer Bee Pinstripe) 12.5%. 1/8

in the hypothetical case that your female has 8 eggs, there is a probability that you get one of each, it's all about hitting the odds in the morphs you'd like to have, may they be in your favor!

I would give them more than a few days rest before pairing up again. Once a month is plenty then if I female seems close to ovulation I'll make sure to try to get her to lock up one last time. Getting them to lock up 5x in a month doesn't speed the process up any more than if they did once a month and makes your male more likely to go off food.

Hm. I've been following quite a few "guidelines" from breeders on how to do this. A common saying was to get them together at least every few days, and rather more often then not.

Right now it averages out to be maybe once the week ? And he is only serving this one female...

I definitely appreciate the advice and will research deeper into this and pair them up less often.

He is a pig when it comes to eating. He is almost as big as the female. Since I'm really not that worried about breeding (not my top priority) I fed him as he wanted, wasn't worried about him being lazy. Don't get me wrong, I do not overfeed whatsoever but I feed him as much as the females, and he takes it every time.. ;)

    Thank you, Eru.

The reason I haven't bred before is because I have a really hard time selling. I get way to attached and don't want them ending up with someone that looses interest in a few weeks and neglects them. And its not like you can "vet" a good home like you would for a dog or cat. Or at least I don't think anyone does that, LOL.

If that breeding takes, I will end up with a house full of snakes. sigh.
