    Bp stressed????
I've had my first snake for a little over a year now. I know he's healthy because of a recent vet visit, but he doesn't seem too happy. For the past month now he's seemed very anxious and shakey when I'm around. His humidity and enclosure temperatures are fine, he's been eating normally and I haven't moved anything in his enclosure. He's also shedding very slowly and in small pieces instead of all at once. He's been allowing me to handle him, but for the first time today he hissed and struck at me, he's never done either of these things before. I'm really not sure what to do since he is my first, and only snake and I've never experienced this before.

If a snake isn't shedding well, it boils down to humidity and humidity only.

What are your husbandry numbers? How do you measure them?

I'm a new owner as well, but I've read that most BPs are pretty shy, and handling them too much can stress them out, its not entirely true though especially with mine, he's obsessed with being out of his enclosure, I can't open it to change that water or anythinf without him trying to wrap around my hand to get me to take him out xD but if he's having shedding issues yeah humidity might need bumped up higher, and make sure to keep fresh water for him

-Are you handling him while the shed is still stuck on him? Because if he's in the process of shedding its only natural that he'll be mad, its not a comfortable process.
-There is also the possibility that he's just fearful because he is still young. He should mellow out as he gets older.
-What do you mean by shakey?
