    Just got Fired...
Drama and bull crap. I don't want to get into it, but it's my fault and blah blah blah.

End of it is I now don't have income, and so my first and foremost thought was "how can I take care of Cookie?"

I'm actively looking for a new job but I'm worried....

File for unemployment. Even if it was your fault, there are many legit reasons for termination where you would still qualify for benefits.

true. it never hurts to try, even if you don't think you'll get it.

I definitely +1 the file for unemployment suggestion. If you are denied, file an appeal. Each state has slightly different rules, but the judges tend to be very lenient. I used to work in that field.

If you are super short in the meantime and worried about the animal, maybe your rodent source has an opening or would exchange some "volunteer" work for the items you need.

Filing for unemployment takes forever... I heard it can take up to a month and then some change. Some say almost 6 months.

I walked into a staffing center, I guess at the right time, and got hired on the spot. My start day is a little far off though. I'm going to be missing a paycheck.

I've been getting my F-T mice from box stores like Petco and Petsmart. So I don't really have a supplier

Ouch. You severely over pay then. This is my price chart on craigslist and the louisiana reptile groups, and keep in mind I'm just giving you an idea, as to maybe in one of the local groups a guy does like me.

Though I'm likely going to adjust the price a tad bit more for single and 10+ each, that way I don't have to really open packages and instead can sell the entire package. What I do is order $300 worth of stuff, and divide shipping among everything. If I go up a dollar more per package which I'm thinking I might do, that would help me bring down my cost.

Your snake can miss a meal. My BP took a break and didnt eat for a good while. Your snake will be fine.

If she is all set up with the proper stuff, she's pretty inexpensive now. Find someone in your area that maybe you can in on bulk food purchases with. I have the means and storage space, my friend does not. true, if she doesn't pick up her mice from me, it means Sterling has to eat mice for longer, but, $.80 a mouse, I'm cool with that. Network a little. Use craigs list if you have to (to find other reptile owners to buy in bulk), reach out at reptile shows. You'll get through this!
