Not killing fuzzy rat before eating?
Ok. So how normal is that ball eats a rat before it is dead. I have a 94g Lavender Albino that constricted the fuzzy rat, and then began eating it from the rear end. I though he she had killed it and was just eating it backwards, but then...I heard the rat start squealing. She just finished eating it while it screamed the whole time. Now that my girlfriend is totally traumatized by the sounds, is there anything else I need to worry about?

She has straight out refused F/T.

Shouldn't be anything to worry about.

As to eating f/t I believe many times the issue is the feeder is not being presented warm enough. Mice have a body temp just over 100F so the f/t feeder needs to reflect a similar heat signature.

I use water out of the tap as hot as it comes. I get them over 100F so by the time I offer it even if it drops a bit it is still over 100F.

Well that is a little bit of relief to hear. My other two have no problem with F/T. She is just being picky. I am sure after this little incident, the better half is going to insist on converting her over.

    Thank you.
