Ball Pythons and Electric Toothbrushes

Hi all,

Just subscribed, first post. Had a ball-python for about a month and a half now. Read a bunch on how to handle and care for them, but definitely still have plenty of questions. Plenty of questions related to feeding, temperature, shedding, et cetera. But those can definitely come later. The question I had that really triggered my jump to register for a forum is: What affect does using my electric toothbrush in the same room as my ball-python have on him? I keep him in my bedroom, and the bedroom has a bathroom tucked away in the corner. And I notice him reacting to the sound / vibrations of it from across the room. At most, he looks just a bit confused, but I wanted to make sure there wasn't a more concerning health issue going on related to them that would constitute me getting a non-electric toothbrush or moving him to another room.

Yeah, as far as first questions can go, this is definitely pretty far out there. But hey, if it's a simple question, I'll just Google it first!

Ive never seen such a study done.

Maybe it just wanted its teeth cleaned too.

I don't see any issues or concerns with this.

I shared similar concerns when we were deciding where to keep our bp's enclosure. I really wanted to admire him in the living room, but we have a loud sound bar and subwoofer. After some research I went with the quiet guest bedroom. Would I do that again if an electric toothbrush were the issue? No. As long as he only appears curious I'm sure it's fine :)

Unless you're putting the electric toothbrush up against his cage, the surface the cage is sitting on or the snake itself, there should be zero influence on the snake from a small motor across the room.
