Emergency situation

We are being evacuated due to wildfires. Will my snakeling (4 months bp) be alright if I can't keep his heat pad plugged in and potentially won't be able to raise ambient above 72ish? for like.. a full day or two max? At home he has a dedicated room at 80-81 with hot spot at 91. Please be kind. I'm lacking many options atm.

What's he in? A tub that you rotate ziploc bags of heated water will help keep things warm. Wrap the tub in a blanket for insulation. It could even be a small tub like a $4 one at Walmart. It will only be temporary.

I would just use a heat pack like for shipping snakes if you can get it. But if you just place him in pillow cases and in an insulated box he will be fine for a few days in the 70's. Cold snaps happen in the wild and as long as they don't dip too far below 40 they can survive particularly for short periods.

the pillow case things is assuming you need to evacuate without his home.

He should be fine as long as his temps don't drop below 70. Does he have a meal in him? He'd be better off with an empty tummy right now. Be prepared to take him to the vet to treat RI, though, because it's a possibility with his temps being so low for a few days.

If he's in a tank you can bring with, you could put a heat lamp with a thermostat on him until you can return home.

If you just have the one snake and you are taking him with you, if he needs to stay warm you can put him in a bag and put him down your shirt. At night put the snake bag into a plastic bin with a secure lid, and put that in bed with you. The bin is to ensure that you don't roll on him, and that if he pees it doesn't mess up the bed.

I was able to bring his setup with me and find a place to stay that allowed me to get him plugged in and set, but the power has been off for a few hours and ambient is at 72. I guess for now I'll be doing the hot water bags. Poor little feller is so stressed out I feel so bad for him.Thank you all for the great suggestions.

I can't give you any additional advice beyond what you've gotten, just wanted to say good luck! That's an awful thing to have to go through. I hope your home is OK and that you get to return to it soon.

THIS ^^^^^^^^^^ Only thing instead of a bag i would recommend using a tube sock( that of course doesn't have holes in it). Tie the top of the sock in a loop knot and put that down your shirt. Human body temp internally is 98.6F Translates to a good toasty ambient temp in the low to mid 90's when you factor in convection, evaporation and conduction. ;)
