Weighing a baby?
When do I weigh my baby?
She was 2.5 months when we got her in August and she ate for us, but it took 2 weeks to get a huge liquid pee, a urate and a small poop.
Then, she continued to eat and it took another 2 weeks to get a big liquid pee, a urate and a tiiiiiiny speck of poop.
Now, she's 3.5 months, still eating and after 2 more weeks, no poop, no liquid pee, just one small urate.
Do we weigh her after we find a urate? she is obviously utilizing all of her food and most of her liquids, but do I get a correct weight after a urate then?
My adult does huge pees (liquid and urate) about every other day and poops 1-2 times a week, so we KNOW when she is empty and can be weighed.

For an accurate weight it's best to weight them after they expel, but it doesn't matter much. Just know that if you do weigh them after a huge meal, the accuracy will be off. As long as you are noticing gains along they way I think it's all good.

Honestly I just weigh my dude every week consistently at the same time and keep an eye on the general trends. If I see a weight drop from one week to the next, but a gain from the second week to the third, then I'll assume I weighed him full one week and after an elimination the next.

I use an excel sheet to keep track, like Nellasaur said above, you are going to see drops and gains.

As you can see in that graph, there are a lot of dips but the overall trend is upward.

Re: Weighing a baby?
If you want to weigh your animals to keep track of progress that would be on empty.
I don't weight my animal's simply because I pay more attention to overall body shape and proportion than weight.
The only time I weigh animals it's a customer request.

@Rikoku Oh man, you know, I track Yigg's weight in Excel too but I never thought about graphing the numbers. I should do that!
