    Disenfecting Humidifier with f10?
Im going to re-build my homemade humidifier, but this time I want it to be a bit more sterile. Can I add a small amount of f10 to tap water into the humidifier to keep the tank and tubing clean? The setup I have in mind would be a bit unwieldy to take apart to clean every few weeks.

I run a humidifier in my snake room constantly to keep it 55-60% at all times (in AZ that means it runs a LOT). I know all about the need to keep everything clean - the slime battle can be real!

Here's what I started using in mine a couple of months ago in mine and couldn't be happier with the results: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1.

    Good luck!

How do you use it? Always keep a small amount of the stuff in the water, or only use some of it every so often?

I use it as directed - add a certain amount per gallon when I fill it up so it's in the water at all times.

Ah okay. for f10 im wondering if i should use a reduced amount, since i believe the recommended amount is what you use to make an actual disinfectant solution (maybe 1/3rd the amount will be sufficient to keep the tubing clean). The first thing i noticed about the kind you pointed out was the "harmful to humans and pets" label, but if you havent had any issues, it should be okay.

My idea is to take my old crane cool mist humidifier, but putting a hole in it to have water fed from a larger container that will also be more mobile. This should allow me to run it for over a week without needing to be refilled.

The fine print on the label is about ingesting the product. Since I'm not adding it to my snake's water bowls, I'm not worried. :)

Yes you can use f10. It's safe for reptile use.

Any idea what would be a good about to keep the plumbing clean without constantly fogging my snake with lots of chemicals? Trying to figure out if its effective at all to use a very low concentrate mixture, like 1:1000 (or less), or if i should just do a regular mixture once every few few weeks.

    Thanks!
