I already made a vet appointment for today but I just wanna make sure I'm not taking her for nothing. That looks worrisome, right?

This is another one I was worried about - he looks clean, yes?

I really can not tell from the pics.
If the substance in the first pic is mucus you should be able to hear the snakes breathing in not clear.
Do you have any other signs of RI?

Every once in a while I will hear a loud but short hiss/wheeze sound coming from my rack so I was trying to figure out who it was coming from. Sometimes when I handle her she will make a wheezing sound. While I was trying to get her mouth open she was making slight wheezing sounds but that could just be because she was struggling and thrashing around... but otherwise she eats fine every week and the wheezing sounds aren't constant, only every once in a while. I've never had a snake with RI before so I'm not really sure what I should be looking out for.

Mucus, stringy mucus in the mouth.
Mucus rubbed on tub walls.
Troubled breathing, just like when you have a cold.
Laying with the head pointed upward. This allows the mucus to stay clear a bit better so they can breath easier.
Failing to feed.

Are your BPs the same sex or do you have one of each? They could be feeling frisky.

I have 4 females and 3 males. Lmao, would that explain those hissing sounds?

With no other signs on RI I would think that a possibility. Id go check the breeding threads as Im not a BP breeder.

Re: Does this look like RI?
I would say that from the pics of the normal's airway (fluid and bubbling). Combined with what you've reported as far as the wheezing and abnormal breathing sounds, it's suspicious. Exotic vet will make a professional determination. Gorgeous reptiles btw! Congrats. ;) Out of curiosity what are the temps and humidity in the enclosure?

Are you feeding the standard rodent-girth=snake-girth meals? If so, IME (and unfortunately I've had much, with adoptees) the hiss/wheeze sound is most prominent after eating. (I no longer feed like that, and no longer adopt snakes, either.)
In 2012 I took a Blood Python (which are more susceptible to RI vs BP's) to the Arizona Exotic Animal Hospital in Mesa, AZ. I found the vet very knowledgeable. The visit was not cheap but I learned a lot and felt it was worth the cost. The vet used an analogy similar to KMG's, troubled breathing, similar to when humans have a cold, only he added that it was much more serious in reptiles, difficult to cure, and nearly impossible to completely wipe out forever. Recurrence is highly likely. Also, the injections that need to be given daily for a week will just about destroy any trust that was established.
RI is a by-product of domestication, something which evolutionarily speaking, reptiles have never had to contend with. Resistance was never required and so was never developed.
The most interesting statement he made, and though it was 4 years I still remember very clearly, was that shallow enclosures exacerbate the illness. Several display cages were on site and all afforded the snakes, even ones that were not at all arboreal, inclines where snakes could position their lungs above the abdomen.
If you do follow thru with the vet check-up and have the time I would be very interested in reading a summary of what was said. Thank you and good luck there!

No, I feed her rats that are smaller than her girth. She's about 3500g and I feed medium rats. Sometimes even smalls
