Need a lot of help with Husbandry
Hey guys! So I need ideas on the best way to keep the humidity up for my ball python. It has been a month since she first started to shed and its still not off her head and "neck". I use coconut shavings (I'm allergic to the other shavings and I don't feed her in her tank). I mist it every day. I even got moss to see if that would help. Is there a special humidifier I can get for the tank? I just cant keep the tanks humidity high enough in her tank. She is in a glass terrarium with a screen top. If you need more information just ask. Thank you for your help!!!!

Covering the screen top will help. I've started using reflectix for my screen tops to help keep heat and humidity. The absolute best thing for keeping humidity for a BP is a pvc enclosure, though. They are the best thing that I've ever invested money into.

warm bath and a damp rag..give her a soak in a bath for 20 mins and then let her glide through the rag with a slight grip it should come off fine. I have never used a screen lid but I would think that's your issue with humidity..also bark is my choice of substrate as it holds moisture better but a hide full of sphagnum is always an idea when in blue with newspaper substrate. Can you take a pic of setup and snake separately and post them and I'm certain people on here will help sort you out if we can

Cover the screen top and using a wider water bowl should help. I used to have a screen top and just by covering the top I was able to maintain perfect humidity without having to mist.

You can make a humidity hut. Its what I used when I had to use a screen top aquarium (now I have a t-8). Basic idea is to use a Gladware/Tupperware-like container, cut a hole of course, and lay down a bit of wet paper towel. Not too much, but also watching it so it doesn't dry out.

I would honestly go ahead and just get a tub for your snake! Tubs keep in heat and humidity far better than tanks. You would need a thermostat to control the heating pad, though.

A sealed hide with a small opening with wet moss or paper towel, usually in the middle or on the hot side of the enclosure. Similar to a humid hide for geckos, only larger.
