She got her new cage! It is very heavy...

I mean, of course there are pics, but my parents had a very difficult time lugging this thing up the stairs... It fell against the wall, and a corner broke off. :|

Anyway, I'm elated with the cage otherwise!!! And Vigil is elated too, or at least curious, as she immediately came out of her hide to rest her chin on the leaves and poke them with her nose. These leaves are a new addition, which she's never seen before.

It's 48 x 18 x 18, which I'm hoping she can use for the rest of her life. She's a little over 5 feet right now, and is that size inside her cage. It has a CHE fixture that I didn't use yet. Currently just using a long heat pad underneath. I took these photos with just an iphone last night, right after I got it set up, so not exactly day lighting. But the fluorescent light though!!

I have an old 4 ft BoaMaster melamine enclosure. It took a lot of effort for two grown men to place it 5 feet high on top of a small wardrobe.

I sure hope that it never needs to be moved. Yeah, wishful thinking I know. :rolleyes:

Gosh, I can't imagine lifting this thing 5 feet high on anywhere. My dad's a big guy and he's the one that dropped it.
This is also going to be my first and last melamine enclosure. LOL! I just had no idea melamine was so darn heavy, until I went to pick it up yesterday. Despite the cost, I'm going with pvc cages from now on, or whatever material that's made of, which is very light.

Your friend did an amazing job on that redshepherd! If s/he doesn't build them professionally, they're missing out. Though it might cost a fortune to ship.

LOL really it's no problem, I'd love to know any and all info even if I am excited! Especially if there are some serious cons to it LOL

But he only delivers locally. It really would cost a fortune to ship. I know my 48x18x18 weighs over 130 lbs... just estimating.

Nice looking cage but yeah melamine weighs a ton. Also if the ends and seams aren't sealed really well, snake piss will eat the particle board inside it like candy. Heres 3 of my AP T10s and my 1 pro Line which I will probably sell as soon as I get in my other 3 T10s.

Yes, I'm thinking about what other stuff to add! It's pretty empty-looking, since I just moved her old decor in the 3-foot tub into this one. Maybe a live plant that won't get crushed, or maybe switch out her water bowl for something bigger...

Also, that looks awesome! Reminds me of an aquarium. Those strip lights are a great idea.
