Feeding after removing a bad shed
Hi all. My almost 3 month old ball python just had his first shed since I have had him...and it was awful. I have done alot of research since to help avoid this next time, so that is not my question. Yesterday I soaked him and was able to remove the last of the shed from his neck and head (fortunately the eye caps came off naturally so I didn't have to help with that). He was awesome with the process and didn't strike or bite even when I removed the shed from around his mouth, just alot of squirming. He is over due to feed, but I don't know when is appropriate...today? Or should I wait?
Re: Feeding after removing a bad shed
Depending on his feeding response is when you should decide. If he has consistently fed for you for the time you've had him then you could definitely try today. If he refuses, wait another week. If he's a little timid, I would wait a couple days and try then.
Just remember to wait about a week to offer food again if he does refuse, good luck! :)
