    Thermometer accuracy?
Does anyone else use these zoomed digital thermometers? I use them for my reptiles and they seemingly work fine but I'm unsure about exactly how accurate they are. They seem to display a few degrees higher than my house thermostat.

I just use my IR temp gun. No wires you have to deal with and subsequently, you get a more accurate consistent reading... but that one is obviously better than an analog.

I use it under the log in my noodles hot spot, in addition to an acurite I have just outside it, and it's always been pretty acurate for me. Just a few degrees hotter than the acurite, but it's in a different spot. So I believe them to be pretty good. :)

As long as it's digital and not a dial I would say you're fine.

they are not going to be super accurate but will give you a basic temperature range for your setup. my zoomed broke pretty easy, i couldn't turn it off and it burned through batteries faster than my accurite.
