Jacksons
I have stolen my little sister's Jackson Chameleons to try and work out some of the problems she's having. She is not creating a good temp gradient for the little ones and the humidity level is dreadful. She has a mesh enclosure (killer for keeping humidity up) and I believe the room was too hot for them as the entire enclosure went from 80 degrees on the cold side and 83 on the hot....
My aim is to figure out the problems and return them (if I feel like it ;) ). I just want to ensure they are getting the right environment. I have looked up all of their needs but was wondering if there were any tips anyone might have on raising these guys.
I have a 22 gallon mesh enclosure, drip system, basking light, Acu Rite dual temp and humidity gauge, and vines for hiding.
Any and all suggestions welcomed!!!!
I had to do the same thing with her leopard gecko who after a year still looked like a 4 month old. In the past 2 months she has almost tripled in size and it a happy fattie (a little too much actually, I found she was feeding her every day so I had her back down to 5 times a week). I hope to be as successful with her Jackson's. She has only had them for 3 weeks so I took them early this time as I know they are more sensitive to bad husbandry habits than the leos.
Thanks again!!

Re: Jacksons
I'll just say I hope you're not keeping them together as that is very stressful for a cham.
Good luck.. chams can be very difficult.

Re: Jacksons
She had them in one cage, but I have procured another for the female. I'm working out the UV lighting issues (they had none) and I'm thinking of adding some fake vines with fishing line to the outside of the enclosure to help them feel more secure and in an attempt to hold in some extra humidity. We'll see!
