So I'm wanting to get a rat snake and atm I've pretty much narrowed it down to two of the following:

    1.) Bairds Rat Snake
    2.) Kunashir Island Rat Snake(Japanese)

The two above will look great as adults so I'm having difficulties making that final decision. So help me, and if you have any experience with either please feel free to chime in.

    I know right?

They don't turn green or blue until they get older. But you don't know which color it'll end up being

Right on Deborah! I love all those species.
I'm hopefully picking up some rhino and bamboo rat snakes early next spring. I have a mandarin male and a scaleless texas, both such neat animals.

Well I can strongly recommend both the Rhino rats and the Bamboo ones .

I'm lucky enough to have one of each and they're marvellous display snakes . The Rhino is also great to handle , very friendly , docile and slow moving whilst the Bamboo is kinda shy and reserved rather like Cape File snakes ...

Yea I love rhino rats. Look at my avatar. That's one that spent 30+ minutes trying to eat my finger. Lol.

I'll have to look up bamboo. Don't think I've seen those.
