Banana/CG

I seem to be a bit confused by the banana/CG whole male female maker thing, everything I read says male banana bred to a normal will throw male babies, which is my situation atm, but if I breed him to a different female, say my pastel yb, will he still throw male babies? He was sold to me as a supposed "female maker" did I get male babies because I bred him to a normal? Can I get different odds breeding him to something other than a normal?

From what I understand the maker part is determined by the original breeding pair and which carried the gene. That doesn't mean that 100% come out that way.
That said the female makers hold a premium, would be a shame if something more underlying.

If your male banana was produced by a male banana it's a male maker regardless of what you breed it to. If a male banana is produced from a female banana it is a female maker.

Female Bananas or CG produce normal sex ratios.

As for males, a male from Banana or CG sire will be a male maker, a male from a Banana / CG Dam will be a female maker.

Now this is not 100% and every now and than you may produce a female from male maker and vice versa.

Does not matter what mutation you breed your Banana to.

What morphs are the males you're questioning? Male- and female-maker Bananas still throw clutches with normal 50/50 sex-ratios. The sex-linked part comes as follows: For a male-maker Banana sire, the male hatchlings will be Bananas and the female hatchlings will not. For a female-maker Banana sire, the female hatchlings will be Bananas and the male hatchlings will not. Every now and again you'll get a Banana baby that is the opposite gender from expected, but that is a rare exception.

Ok this answered my question! I bred my banana jigsaw male to a normal female, got a nice 9 egg clutch, 2 bananas, 4 banana pins, a banana jigsaw, a really nice jigsaw and a reduced pattern pin, he's also been bred to my spider, but she hasn't layed yet
