Ball Python extremely active?

I'm a little worried about our BP, Wanda. She's been very active recently at evenings and night time, moving all around her viv and even climbing up the sides until she falls down. She has a hot and a cold side, with a heat mat under each (our room is extremely cold) with the cold set to 27 degrees C ad the hot 32 degrees C. I measured the temp with a thermometer gun before writing this, and they are pretty true to the thermostat. The humidity is 60-65%. We handle her each night, for about 10-15 mins (Except for feeding times.). We;ve been doing this for two weeks, but she's only started this behaviour within the last week gone. Her last feed was today. As I sit here typing it, she's moving around the viv again, and I'm a bit worried she might regurgitate her meal.

I'm a bit stuck really. All advice is welcome!

I would say stop handling her aside from cleaning. Movement like that is usually a sign of stress.

I thought movement at night was normal and movement during the day was a sign of stress? My temps are almost perfect, humidity has been in the 70's lately after a problematic shed, eats once a week, and is handled 1-3 times a week and most nights he comes slithering out of his hot hide and explores the whole enclosure for a while. I thought this was normal. :confusd:

There's a difference between what op was describing and normal exploring. Climbing viv walls usually means they're trying to get out and find a new place to hide, whereas exploring on the ground could be hunting or general activity. I think what you'e describing is perfectly fine.

I wouldn't worry. If she's eating and hiding during the day and all your temps and humidity are good, she sounds healthy. You shouldn't really handle her though for a couple days after she eats.

If she's still eating and hiding during the day, I wouldn't worry much either, even though it is odd that she's being active again on the day that she ate.

One of my males did something similar last fall, and it lasted for 3 weeks! He just abruptly became extremely active all night and even part of the day, despite nothing changing in his enclosure or husbandry. I tried switching him to a smaller basic tub, and he was still active, I switched him to a bigger tub, he was still active. Nothing fixed it, but he eventually stopped and went back to normal for no apparent reason.

Does anyone have a recommendation for how long we should not handle her for? We've been doing 48 hours after feeding anyway, but should we leave her for a week or two?

Another thought... How big is she, and what is she eating? Maybe she has grown and is getting antsy for bigger prey?

She's 90g, and we're feeding her a rat pup a week.

I'm sorry to bump this, but now she's moving around all day as well. I'm really worried there might be something wrong.
