Need some good eyes to help me here (PIC HEAVY)
Okay here goes post #4. My first post was asking whether or not my boa was Hypo. (Really stupid question, she clearly is not). I have since been looking into morphs and trying to learn more about Boa Morphs. I know alot about Ball Pythons but this is my first Boa and she has got me super stoked about Boas now. I dont plan on breeding, maybe someday far far down the line, she is just a pet for me, but i am very curious about whether or not she may be a very (very) low expression jungle. I bought her at a recent expo, and the breeder had a whole litter with the parents there for show. The parents were a sunglow (sharp line) and a jungle (a very very clear jungle, super cool connected line/saddles all the way down). I was told my boa i purchased was het albino (although, wouldnt there only be a % chance? Not guarunteed?). Ive looked around for het markers, and the top portions of her eyes are significantly brighter than the bottom, but ive heard that isnt actually a tell for het, just a coincidence. Any opinions on this? Also, she has 2 (only two) saddles that are x shaped and slightlly connected to other saddles, as well has the reds on her tail are joined rather than having a bunch of smaller red patches they are 3 or 4 big long red blotches. I am attaching pictures, please give me feedback and i have done a little more research so i hope this question isnt as dumb as my first morph question post. Thanks ahead of time!!
*also, please excuse the laundry dumped on the bed in the background, i got distracted mid put away ha*

Not a dumb question when dealing with variable co-dom morphs, I can't speak for her being a jungle but as for being het albino, when you breed a visual to a non visual all he babies come out het for whatever recessive gene is being expressed by the visual parent. Like when I breed my female pied ball python to my male banana ball python next year, all the babies will be het pied and give me the ability to produce banana pieds the following season or so. As for being a jungle I just couldn't tell you. I'm not super familiar with boa morphs just yet, and something as variable as I understand jungle can be, just makes it that much harder.

Thank you! I am considering finding a male that i can pare her with years down the line, and i had found a salmon het albino (same albino, sharp) and was thinking about breeding to get one good sunglow holdback, and being jungle as well would make the holdback that much more awesome. I do want to breed at least one clutch, but dont intend to start a business i would want to have maybe 4 Boas total as family pets. I just think breeding a pair and seeing the results is so fascinating! That is one thing i do love about BPs is all the incredible morph varieties there are!

You have a beautiful snake, but i wouldn't call it a jungle. There are some aberrant aspects on a few saddles and at the end of tail, but that is faily common in all wild-types (preferred nomenclature for "normals" imo). For the most part her saddles are very clean and her side diamonds are mostly normal. The sides of the tail are especially nice, reminds me of BCC patterning. Its hard not to get caught up in the whole morph thing, i know when i look at boas i often have to remind myself that they are all great, not just the expensive ones. I'd say you have a really gorgeous wild type (or normal if you prefer) who is 100% het for albino. As Artemisace said, any time you have a visual recessive, all the offspring will be het - if any of the offspring are also visual, that proves that the other parent was het, since you need two copies of a recessive gene for it to be expressed.

Thank You! i do really enjoy her and her being normal is fine with me, i was just curious is all. Like i said maybe one day years from now i might attempt to breed but i got her for the intent of having her as a pet and picked her simply because i loved her pattern and temperment. Stella is a great snake and is doing wonderful! Thanks again for the feedback.

would you consider her side diamonds near the front as a possible indicator of jungle or is it typical of wild types as well?

My biggest question though is it common for boas to brown out, and what age do they do so? Stella is % months old and hasnt really changed color too much, her tail got a bit brighter after shed and now it seems to generally be a more rust color than red, but will she get darker like i see a lot of the bigger snakes are? I feel like ive seen such a large range of adult color in wild types, is it due to locality?
