Handling and how much?

I need to know how long i can hold her and i know not 24-36 hrs after feeding, but is there a beter time to hold. some time next week I will be holding for the first time and I want to make a good impression so during the day or close to night time, plz help

From my experience, that do not really make any difference when you take them out or so. I would not take her for more than 30 minutes / week. But if it's the first time, don't take it out for more than 5 minutes, don't stress it ! go gradually. Oh and if she try to bite you, let her do. It's better when they are young. IF they bite and you do not react or feel affraid, they will believe it's useless to bite, so they will tame in the future.

Truelly, I do not think it's good to take out a snake. Well, I do it, but they do not really like it. So most of the time, I only take my snake out when I am cleaning their cage. I have them around my neck or something like that and put them back in after.

Thx for the time frame but u should handle them more to keep them tame.

well i am not really an expert on snake handling yet but one thing i am trying to do with my snake is when i do handle, i make sure phantom is already active in her/his cage. I dont feal comfortable taking phantom out of her hide or from where she is basking if she isnt moving. i know i hate to be bothered when i am sleeping LOL. I guess it would make sense that if the snake is out and about, it probably is comfortable with its own body temperature. So possibly removing a snake that is trying to heat up, may cause it more stress than ussual.

We usually handle our young snake daily for around 15 minutes or less and always in the evenings when she's ready to roam a bit and our busy house is a bit more quiet. I would agree that being hauled out of a hide might put any snoozing snake in a "mood" LOL. Just start at a few minutes and work up a bit each time keeping a close eye on the snake's reactions (remember they are usually pretty head shy).

We've found with our snake that taking everything slow and steady has really paid off in that we have a super eating, super temperment snake that we are just thrilled to own.

I should add tho that every snake is different and some don't mind handling and some hate it and everything in between, so just go by what works for you and your particular snake.
