plants

This question is for people who are good with both plants and snakes. I have a queen marble or marble queen, not quite sure which one it is. (it is the one that grows really long and really quickly) Would it be a good idea to put one of these in the snake's cage so he can climb on it? Would it be stable enough? (right now he's just a baby) If it would work, do you think it would be best to leave it in its planter or just use dirt as a substrate? Thanks.

Not a good idea for at least two reasons.

1. Your ball python will destroy the plant ... crawling on it, over it, thru it, sooner or later ... puff, it's gone!

2. Potting soil can harbor tons of natural bacteria and organisms that you do not want to expose your snake to. When it comes to ball pythons, the cleaner you can keep the cage the better ... substrates can be replaced, it's not easy to keep potting soil "clean".

As long as they are easy to wash .... the cloth/silk fake stuff can get nasty over time ... I know that lots of people use plastic fake plants and even wash them in the dish washer every week or so.

Yep go with nice looking plastic if anything. Those silk ones are major dust collectors and gawd knows what else and awful to clean w/o completely destroying them. I had some in my house as decoration (I kill all house plants unfortunately) and they were just awful to keep looking nice.

Usually plastic is way cheaper too and can look very nice.
