I can only tell u what I tried and worked for me maybe just the once try a olive oil bath in the sink?

I honestly wouldn't use any type of oil on the snake at all as that could lead to the scales becoming soft and falling off. I have heard of placing a snake in a tub of tepid of water with just a drop of Dawn dish soap. The soap breaks the water tension and will help drown some of the mites. Make sure the water is not to hot, I would definitely use a thermometer to test the temperature before placing the snake in it.

I didn't know this at the time and only found this out today but tbf I used it twice a day for a week and my boy is fine so maybe once wouldn't hurt just to get the majority off him. I only used a cap full as well so not alot at all in a sink and my bathroom sink is fairly large

This does work. Only a little soap is needed, your snake should not look like it is taking a bubble bath.
