Great job! I got my first snake today at 10:30! I decided to hold my BP today and he seems to like it more than in his cage. He is a wild caught baby about 18"-20" long. His name is Olaf. I named him after a cage fighter that I saw on TV once. It seems like he is captive bred because he is so calm. I'll try to post some pictures of him on here later (even though he probably looks like all the others). Tell me more about your snake, and good job at getting a BP!

I just graduated the eigth grade, too, but that's not why I got one. I just wanted to get a pet, so I was going to get a guinea pig, but they were too much money to take care of. Then I saw some pictures of snakes and thought that it might be cool to get one. My dad has been into snakes since he was a little kid, so I decided that my dad could help me to get my snake set up. I've got a couple questions for you.

    1. What is the temperature in your cage? I was worried about it being too cold, but I was able to get it up to about 82 degrees F.
    2. Is it a boy or girl?
    3. What's it's name if you've named it yet?

welcome to the site guys! do a little research on posts and caresheets and you'll find alot of info on proper setup. some of the basics are hot side 90-94
cool side 82-84. a basic hide and a water bowl. the proper setup with a good heat source and a thermostat will go a long way to success and fewer problems. humidity roughly 50-60%
