SD retic banged up her face
So today was feeding day and my SD Kalatoa got a bit excited and struck the cage door as I went to feed her. She's now got a slightly dented top lip but doesn't seem to be affecting her, took her rat just fine, drank some water after. Is it likely snagged on an upper tooth? Should I intervene? I'm probably just overly worried but I'd appreciate any input or advice from those of you that have had this happen before. Thanks a ton!http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...4b2d3266ea.jpg
Seems pretty minor, and apologies for the crappy cell pic, but I'd rather be overly cautious rather than not and have it turn out to be a bigger deal than I think. It's her right side of her top lip, left side in the pic.

Cant really help much as I don't own a retic but I have heard from people that they do get banged up noses a lot from pushing either from breeding season or hunger and also from slamming the cage doors when hungry. Try joining some of the retic fb pages like retic nation and a few others I cant remember atm. I joined a few there for stuff to read and learn about them. Personally I think it will be fine. just watch it and if in a day or so it doesn't go back to normal or starts looking worse, then you might need to take further actions.

Oh you can also check by sticking your hand in there and getting bit and count see if the puncture marks are all uniform which would tell you if a tooth is out of whack....j/k, I probably wouldn't do that test :D

Thanks for the reply! It does seem to be a bit better than it looked earlier. I do know that retics are more prone to pushing/cage ramming face realignment but this is the first I've dealt with it personally. I also think it will likely be fine but just thought I'd ask before jumping to conclusions. Tried joining retic nation a while back but they never accepted my request.
I'm sure she would happily oblige your tooth puncture suggestion but I'll politely decline for the moment hahah! [emoji6] only tagged me once and it was nothing but I'd like to avoid that becoming a habit. Thanks again for the response, I appreciate it! Cheers!

She'll be fine. I've had both retics and boas do that. They manage to sort themselves out in a day or three.

Thank you bcr! Like I said, I'm sure I was just overly worried because it's my first retic and first time in 20 years I've had a snake biff up its face like that. I figured someone here would have more experience and insight to offer. I appreciate the response!
