Most humane way to kill feeder rats? Liquid nitrogen or C02?

Hello! I'm new here this is my first thread. I'd like to know whether C02 or liquid nitrogen is the most painless way to kill a rat to afterwards freeze it. I've read a lot about CO2 being the most 'humane' way to kill them until I fell on a comment that said something about liquid nitrogen. Apparently liquid nitrogen knocks the rats out without them even noticing and then kills them compared to CO2 that suffocates them to death wich causes them pain. I'm wondering how each product works on the rat (do they really get knocked out? do they feel any pain?) and how long it takes for them to die. Does one way cost much more? Let me in on all the info you have about N2 and CO2! Thanks!

I heard with CO2 you do it slowly and the feeders just tend to fall asleep before they eventually die. I also heard of using cervical dislocation as a quick and painless method of euthanizing feeders. This method can take some time if you are trying to process a lot of feeder thought so it might not be useful. Here is a video that someone posted on this forum a while back on how to correctly perform a cervical dislocation.

Personnaly I use CO2 the key is to have a gauge regulator on your cylinder

I absolutely hate handling mice. The last few I raised were bitey. Now, I just get the willies.

If you raise your own feeders, you should be selecting the best breeders and eliminating biters and chewers, etc. I can handle any of my rats without fear of bites, because I've culled for generations so to eliminate problem lines.

I use co2 for my breeding operation . I find it the most humane and easy . I've never had any issues .

I have never heard of anyone using liquid nitrogen, and i actually dont know where you could buy it but it sound expensive. C02 is cheap and effective and thats what i've been doing.
